Dealer Directory Empty Dealer Directory

Sun Jan 09, 2022 1:17 pm
By popular (sort of, well a couple of people were interested) demand the Forum is starting a directory of bullion dealers, to assist members in their searches. It is very much on the basis of 'Buyer Beware' and the Forum is not endorsing any of the dealers who may be listed. Nor will the Forum assist in any disputes between purchaser and seller. It also goes without saying that there will be no inter-member comeback if someone is disappointed with a listed dealer.

So, the idea is that there will be a list, initially in this post but with the possibility of forming a whole new section if the idea takes off. I'll start off with my favourites, and other members can post with their own selection. Listings in future posts will be lifted to form one long list in my initial post so, so avoid it all looking like it has come from me the individual member will be named against their entries.  The format will be: Name; link to website; comments. Obviously, members should only list dealers that they have used and can give a personal view on. If anyone wants to add comments to a listing then please do, and they can be transported to the master list. Please bear in mind laws against defamation!

I have made a post below which sets out the rules about recommending dealers for the directory. There will shortly be another thread for members to post reviews of dealers.

Anyway, on with the show - here are my initial seven, there are others, but this should be enough to be going on with. I have also now started to add the dealers listed by other members:

101 Munten (101 Coins for anglophones) (Listed by JOS WRSM)
https://www.101munten.nl/#
Website is also in English. You only pay 21% VAT on the premium.
JOS Wrsm has added: When I asked if UK residents can order from 101-munten, I got the following answer:
"It's hard to figure out. The rules regarding gold, silver bars and silver coins are complex. Gold is generally exempt from VAT, so it can easily be shipped to the UK. If there are products that are taxed by us with 21% VAT, then they are export for us to "outside the EU" and VAT and (probably) customs duties must be paid by the recipient upon entry into the UK. However, we do not have to charge VAT on sales. The crux is probably in the VAT margin on goods. These are actually all silver coins that we sell. The margin scheme applies within the EU, but not outside of it. I suspect that silver coins are treated in the same way as silver bars for that reason. So the recipient will probably have to pay import VAT.
It is no problem for gold coins/bars."
If you want to know something, please contact them via Whatsapp. They will certainly respond.

Atkinsons Bullion &coins ( listed by Mcb2007)
https://atkinsonsbullion.com/
Comments: Similar to Pixley not a massive range but all the usual bullion , bought off them with no issues .

Aurinum (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://aurinum.de/Startseite-1
Comments: stocks coins and rounds that aren't otherwise easily available as well as the more usual pieces. Website in German and English and e-newsletter in English. Reliable, but can be slow and not too good at replying to emails. Does pre-orders. Check listing to see whether the coin is capsuled or sent in a flip, it varies.

EMK (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://www.emk.com/de-de/
Comments: website is German and English, user can choose. Very wide range of BU and proof coins at competitive prices, and has a pre-order system where customers can buy at a reduced price. There are occasional sales, usually just after I have bought the piece at full price. E-newsletter, super efficient and excellent customer service.

Minted UK (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://minted-uk.com
Comments: stocks a wide range from the upper reaches of desirability to more modestly priced proofs. Site is well worth browsing (you almost certainly won't leave empty handed) and customer service is excellent.

Perth Mint (Listed by Admin)
https://www.perthmint.com/
Comments: Wide range of Coins, but beware of the new minimum spending limit.

Pheli Mint (Listed by mervs68)
https://www.phelimint.com/collections/all-products-1
Comments:  A private mint based in Canada although products are shipped from the U.S. Phelimint was founded by two medics and they released the ‘Wounded Healers’ series with the intent to help raise awareness of PTSD and mental stress injuries in first responders and Health Care professionals. Sells a range from other U.S. Mints including – ‘Reckless Metals ‘, ‘Anonymous Mint, ‘Chautauqua Silver Works’ etc. Good choice of unusual pieces, Speedy delivery and fair postage.

PIK Coins (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://pik-coins.com
Comments: Stocks the high-end stuff, competitively priced but still high premium. Great service; reliable and user-friendly. E-updates when new stock arrives. Wish I could afford more of his stock.

Power Coin: (Listed by mervs68)
https://www.powercoin.it/en/
Comments: A vast range of coins available. Constantly offering new issues. Expensive in comparison to other dealers. Efficient company with a small rewards scheme. Postage reasonable.

Pressburgh Mint. (Listed by Admin)
https://www.pressburgmint.com/
Comments: Bought from them several times, If you need to back date your collection they are perfect.

Sharps Pixely Ltd bullion dealer ( listed by Mcb2007)
https://www.sharpspixley.com/
Comments: I have purchased off this company several times without any issues.

Silvertrader (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://www.silvertrader.uk
Comments: excellent customer service and very competitive prices. Good stock and all in great condition, sent out in capsules. Free postage, e-newsletter; and money off vouchers. No downside as far as I have seen.

The Coin Shoppe (Listed by Mcb2007 and seconded by Admin)
https://thecoinshoppe.ca/
Comments: Lots of good stuff in their stock (Mcb2007). Highly recommended by Admin.

WOPA+ (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://www.wopa-plus.com/en/index/index/
Comments: Mainly stamps, but does have coins at reasonable prices. Good selection of the Pressburg Mint products. Works by acting as a one-stop-shop for a number of mints, so you can order a wide selection under one roof (but may have to pay more than one postage charge). E-newsletter seems to be confined to stamps. Good service.

Yorkshire Bullion (Listed by The Cat's Mother)
https://www.yorkshirebullion.co.uk/home.php
Comments: Good range and some US rounds that don't generally get stocked over here. Free postage and very good customer service.

Rules for the Dealer Directory
1. The Directory is intended to assist members in their searches.
2. Obviously, members must only list dealers that they have used and can give a personal view on. If anyone wants to make comments on a listed dealer then please do so in the review section. Please bear in mind laws against defamation! Any comments that the Admin team consider to be defamatory or offensive will be deleted without notice.
3. Please post your suggestions using the following format, and containing all the information shown:
Name of Dealer (Listed by [insert Member's Name])
   Link to website
Comments: Member's comments on the dealer. Can have downsides as well as upsides.
If a suggestion doesn't contain all the information it will be deleted.
4. I will incorporate all entries into the Master List as they are posted, or when I get the mystical Round Tuit, and I will then delete the posts -  so don't worry when they vanish. Hopefully this will mean that there is only one place to find listings.
5. The Admin team's rulings are final.
