Perth Mint 1/10 Kangaroo
Wed Jun 14, 2023 6:34 pm
I purchased this 2023 Perth Mint 1/10th ounce Kangaroo in February. I like the Kangaroo's pose looking over its shoulder. The mint designer also did a good job with various trees found in its habitat. The reverse is dated 2023 and shows the purity. I like the addition of the memorial dates of the Queen's reign.

@The Cat's Mother,
Looking on the web, the 2016 1/10 Lunar Monkey is very cute. I would've added it to my wildlife collection had I started collecting back then. Unless there's another wildlife coin featuring the monkey, I'll have to wait until 2028.
On the silver front, if it's offered as a one-ounce colorized coin, then I'll scoop that up.
Thanks for sharing this.

There are others about, but they are getting quite pricy as they get scarcer with the passage of time. That one is at least on sale in the US, so postage is less likely to be a problem. Have a look to see what prices they go for, and decide whether you want to bid or prefer, say, a new car.

Too funny with the car TCM! There's a couple proof ones I'm looking at in the US. One thing I discovered is that these 2016 coins are a half ounce instead of one ounce that the eBayer stated.
Anyway, I'll kick the tires so to speak before I make a decision.

Well, I see you didn't bid for the coloured Monkey (nobody did in fact, and it's been relisted). You could have got quite a bargain. I wasn't sure what you meant about the 1/2 oz though: the photos of the box and insert show it as being 1 oz. Did you mean this coin?

My mistake TCM. It is an ounce. Still undecided about the coin.

I've got a 1/10 '23 and the 2024 looks quite nice as well - and I've been hunting for '22s at a reasonable price. They'll go nicely with the 1/10 kooks.
On the other side of the Atlantic, I saw Apmex had 1/10 22 roos, but Apmex prices. Could be worse, I suppose; could be Harrington & Byrne prices.

I noticed that Apmex and others will charge more for a coin that's only two years older than a current one. I guess they have us because of a different design.

Most of the dealers here in Blighty will do that as well.
