Travel log.

So, I've just arrived safe and sound in Indonesia.  Went to wind up the gold shop in Dubai about their prices but instead I decided to get a bit of something for the Mrs.  Nothing grand, just a 1/10 kanga.  Their prices on 1oz coins are still pretty OTT but this 1/10 wasn't any dearer than buying it in the UK - a nice change for Dubai.  Even their 1/4s weren't that much dearer than local ones at current spot.

As a nice change, there's a brand shiny new motorway exit at the airport now and our house is quite close to one of the other exits, so it only took 10 minutes or so to get home from the airport.

Well, part 2 - turns out there's a lurgy going around Indonesia at the moment and I've had a rotten case of man flu for the past couple of days.  With a bit of luck it will clear up soon.

Poor old thing, but I'm sure you're getting all the sympathy you deserve. Hope you recover soon.

I think I might be on the mend now.  Feeling a little better and slightly more energetic.

The fever's finally broken and I'm back in rude health - more or less.  In other news, I got an interview for a new contract lined up for next week.

On the minus side, it turns out that the #1 munchkin has dengue fever and our health insurance doesn't cover the antibiotics.  It's an American-style private health system but fortunately nowhere near as overpriced.  I'll probably have a sov or so's worth of odds and sods to pick up the bill for, though.

Got back from Indonesia this morning.  The trip turned out to be a bit of a non-event, spent 2/3 of it with man flu or the sort of chronic diarrhoea that leaves one without much energy to do anything. In the meantime, the spot price of gold has shot up by about 20%.

Yes, it is.  It means I probably won't get back into work until next month at least, which probably means 8-10 weeks before I next get paid.  I'll probably have to flog some gold to cover that.

Not good. Shall I send a food parcel? I think I have an out of date part used bag of krupuks somewhere.
