Bargain!

It's not really how many are graded at 70, it's how many graded below that. E.g. if all the graded examples get 70 then it's expected. How many 69s or less of these are there?

On Cameo, from NGC. A modern proof really should get an Ultra Cameo or at least Cameo (depending on the coin/Mint) designation by default, so if it doesn't, it's a problem coin!:

'Proofs are coins that are specially struck, typically for sales directly to collectors. Many proofs exhibit varying degrees of “frost” on the design elements. This is achieved when the surrounding fields are polished on the coining die to give them a brilliant finish. The design elements are either untouched or sandblasted to have a matte finish. As the dies are used repeatedly to strike coins, this effect can fade.

NGC uses Cameo and Ultra Cameo designations after the numeric grade to describe the degree of frost present on the design elements. If little or no frost is present, no designation will be used. (Note: Ultra Cameo is generally synonymous with Deep Cameo, another common term in the hobby.)

<snip> (NGC does not offer Cameo or Ultra Cameo designations for Reverse Proofs.)

NGC automatically applies the Cameo and Ultra Cameo designations to qualifying coins at no additional charge. To earn the Cameo or Ultra Cameo designation, the coin must show the contrast between the fields and devices on both sides.'

('Devices' are the frosted design elements.)

Shocked Shocked Shocked

I did say I know little to nothing on this. And your post below is highly helpful!

Thank you because I was at a lost. I know that this has a porcine effect to the face/mask area. It has a green like hew like it should almost glow in the dark.  It honestly is an amazing coin and I fell in love years ago when it was released. I just was never prepared to pay that price. But for me to get it at under £50 was a bonus and shock!

Thats is delivered and graded!!! Now for me grading means little but in this case it means that I can store it without a heavy box and I have the coin I wanted.

Happy days, Thank you and thank you  @ANT ORTA for your jaw dropping, I spilled my coffee from the shock.  Razz

@kimchi really a massive thank you for your time and clarification on this.

Most welcome Admin! That's the whole point of the forum isn't it, to share knowledge etc? Smile

It is a very unusual finish indeed, to have wanted one for so long and then got such a bargain price I can imagine how pleased you are! king
