Cats will be bringing home that cute kangaroo. Not sure what her cats will think about it though. Can't wait to hear about scuba diving

Scuba diving not on the agenda @tray , and I'm more wanting a Tassie Devil than a kangaroo.

Just watched the video on Firefox. That little quokka was adorable. Maybe @ArcaneCollector should watch it and pause the video at that point.

Hmmm who is this advert made for? 2022_q15

I don't think they make these in gold, unfortunately.  Maybe I'll re-do a few of the dollaridoos with a cone at some point.

Edit - Nicer pic of the Quokka.

Hmmm

Not everything Perth Mint does gets produced in gold.  I've seen some in gold - Kangas, Emus, Lunars, Nuggets, Swans and one or two others done in 1oz old and a couple of others like kooks that turn up in 1/10oz only - for reasons that I can't fathom.  Some are silver-only.  There's also a platinum-only Platypus.

I guess their marketing folks must make a call about what they think will sell, although science is powerless to explain why they don't think 1oz kooks are a goer.  I'd have thought those would fly out the door.

The Kooks are made in 1/10th, 1/4 1oz 2 oz and 5 oz GOLD. see this site. https://www.emk.com/en-us/collection/australia/australian-kookaburra/

As far as the Quokka is concerned I looked and I can only find that it is gold guilded at the moment. see https://www.europeanmint.com/2021-1oz-australian-silver-quokka-gold-gilded-coin/

I found a RAM 1oz kook design that I'd never seen before, but PM does 1/10oz BU, 1/4oz proof and then some big high relief coins, but no 1oz BU or proof Sad

Somebody was flogging a 2oz high relief 2021 kook for a fairly reasonable premium last year, and I was tempted to buy it, but I didn't have a spare £3200 at the time.  Mind you, trying to do a photo shoot of one of those would be a nerve wracking experience.

I recall doing a shot of my first proof coin (a 2020 proof sov), and fumbling and dropping it.  Needless to say it bounced gracefully onto the floor and is now covered in crud.  Many choice words were uttered at the time.  Fortunately, I only paid a little over bullion for it, so it's not a huge loss.

I see EMK has some of the high relief kooks, but they want about 6,000 euros for them.
